Training
The doctoral school and doctoral colleges offer various types of cross-disciplinary or disciplinary training aimed at deepening the doctoral student's education and preparing them for their post-thesis career.
Doctoral students are required to complete approximately 100 hours of training or equivalent during their doctorate (with a recommendation of 50 hours of EDGE disciplinary training chosen from the EDGE-Brittany or EDGE-Pays de la Loire training catalog).
The Individual Training Plan (ITP), defined at the start of the program, outlines the training courses the doctoral student will need to follow.
A mandatory training on research ethics, scientific integrity, and open science must be completed.

(filter the organizing service by "EDGE", the training code starts with either DIS-EDGE, IST-EDGE or PC-EDGE)
It is also possible to attend the training courses offered by the EDGE-Brittany doctoral school presented here.
Cross-Disciplinary Training

These are broad-based courses: management, ethics, career development, etc.

Training in Research Ethics, Scientific Integrity, and Open Science
The decree of May 25, 2016 governing doctoral training stipulates that doctoral schools "ensure that every doctoral student receives training in research ethics and scientific integrity".
The decree of August 26, 2022 amending the decree of May 25, 2016 further specifies that doctoral schools must "raise doctoral students' awareness of open science issues and the dissemination of research work in society to strengthen the relationship between scientists and citizens."
Training on these topics is offered by the Pays de la Loire Doctoral College.
It is also possible to train via MOOCs recognized by HCERES.
Equivalencies
Many other activities can also be recognized: activities offered by external organizations (training bodies, employing institutions, or doctoral project partners) or doctoral valorization activities (participation in professional fairs, science-society outreach, or governance bodies).
An equivalency grid of activities-hours of training is available here.
To have these activities validated by the doctoral school, an equivalency request must be submitted on Amethis by going to Training>Equivalency Catalog (see the instructions in the FAQ)
